This Sauv Blanc is very uncharacteristic of its cultivar. You don’t get that whiff of cut grass. Instead, it’s much more floral, notes of citrus on the nose, and a very rounded presence on the palette. If you gave this to me in a blind tasting I’d go into a tastebud tailspin and would have probably grouped it with a complex Chenin.
Definitely worth trying, and not expensive at R165 if I recall correctly. They only made 3000 bottles, I took 3, they used one at the tasting so that leaves 2996 unaccounted for. I don’t think they’ll last long at the cellar.
