Playing guess the blend with this Marklew Family Reserve 2017. I guessed 2 out of three – Cab Sav & Merlot. There’s also a touch of Cab Franc. Lovely pungent berries in the nose, lovely dusty notes on the palette, the kind you get from the cab sav maturing in new oak, and balanced with a little smoothness from the merlot.
Great company in the kitchen while cooking up some caramelized ginger for tomorrow.
