What do you do while you’re waiting for new restaurants to open? You cook.

I took all these ingredients and turned them into a seriously yummy Drunken Chicken that had my wife lost for words. The recipe calls for skin-on chicken breasts but I prefer to get a whole chicken and butcher it myself. I use the leftover carcass to make chicken stock, and I use the breast and legs in the recipe. So tonight I ended up with 4 leftover wings. What do you do with 4 wings?

That was the surprise winner tonight – the addition of crispy chicken wings starter, topped with a sticky Asian sauce. They were OMG next level. These sucked the conversation out of the table when they were served. Crispy, succulent, and that sauce, wow! It was so good it can’t be legal!

This was accompanied by Ken Forrester Winery Stellenbosch Old Bushvine Chenin Blanc 2019 while I was cooking and bubbling and simmering, and Saronsberg Wine Estate, Tulbagh 2019 Shiraz at the table to go with all that yummy spiciness.
