Opened as a special treat tonight under the Succah by good friend and drinking buddy Cliff – a Shiraz with elegant character, leaning more into into the tannins to give a slight edge.
Special occasions are made more so when you’re surrounded by friends and family. On the other side of the bottle are all the smiling faces, the reminiscing about Jewish geography, who knows who, whose cousin/aunt/friend/relation is married to whom, and the shy cooing of the newest grandchild – the circle grows smaller and smaller, and always amplified by generous helpings of delicious food.
If you followed my post about Gusto Urban Italian and the Tiramisu, the verdict is out. The winner is Cliff, hands down.
