Rust en Vrede Wine Estate Estate 2018
I get smoked salami and and dried autumn leaves on the nose. Beautifully deep on the palette – rich dark berries and plum. This is a complex and very distinctive wine. Delicious.
Rust en Vrede only make red wines, and their focus on one type of wine makes for a wine with seriously intense flavors and refined character. This wine gets Platter 5 stars, and I fully agree.
I served this at the bar with some seriously punchy flavours in a Thai inspired snack – Thai Spinach cones with Lemon zest, lemon grass, onions and crispy onions, chilli, peanuts and Vietnamese dipping sauce. Delicious, and healthy too! Not so healthy when the bottle is nearly empty!
