Traveling back to Jo’burg this week, and thought I’d pick a wine from the Checkers wine range. Seeing as Shiraz is my go-to, I chose this one. To be completely honest I confused this one with Zorgvliet Wines, which I remember enjoying when it was in a Wine of the Month mixed case a while back.
This Zandvliet 2017 Shiraz was okay, but not as cataclysmic as I was hoping for. I mean when you’re away from home, you need some creature comforts. I had my eye on a Saronsberg CellarSeismic, or a RAKA WINE Biography Shiraz, and I’ve got FOMO for not taking either of those instead. I sought refuge in coffee instead.
